My name is Sini Korhonen and I will fill the boots that Eldrid Siem has left as an International Youth Coordinator in supporting active youth members in Save the Children.
I am 23- year old and I have been a member of a Finnish Save the Children youth group for almost two years now. That means I have a small insight into Finnish Save the Children work concerning child and youth participation. I will start working as a full-time youth coordinator in the beginning of October 2009 at PRESS Redd Barna Ungdom’s office in Oslo.
The job as an international youth coordinator consists of different parts, but the main task is to support youth initiatives and active youth in their work. As a coordinator I also want to improve the cooperation and information exchange between youth groups.
I wish to be a person that is easily approachable, so do not hesitate to get in contact with me if you have any kind of questions or would like to get in contact some other youth group. I would also like to be kept updated about the work going on. There is a lot to know about the Save the Children as an organisation and especially child and youth work inside it, so I need your assistance, thoughts and ideas for trying to make the right things. Keep in touch!
Best wishes,
Sini Korhonen
